life and earth science

Post by iovalles »

I am competing in my Hudson county science fair , my goal is to make it to Washington D.C .I am doing the project Decomposing Energy .For the next phase of my project I would like to expand from it , and create a machine to use the methane gas and convert it to electricity. I would be really thankful if anybody could perhaps help me with my research and possibly give me a suggestion for building ?

This sounds like a really cool idea! I did some research, and it seems like you would need to burn the methane in order to generate electricity. This website shows you how to make biogas energy from a methane generator: http://www.small-farm-permaculture-and- ... rator.html. However, you definitely need to get approval and probably sign a few more forms BEFORE you do anything. Also, since your project involves electricity, chemistry, and engineering, you would probably get a lot more helpful advise if you posted your questions in the Physical Science category.

Good luck on your project! I hope you make it to D.C.!
