Measuring Magnetic Fields

Post by DWidmeier »

My name is Dave Widmeier and I bought this kit for my son's science fair project.

We did everything as directed but don't see any changes in the meter.

I am attaching a picture of the experiment.

what are we doing wrong?

Hi Dave,
I am sorry that the experiment isn't working. Thank you very much for the picture. Can you help us confirm that the hall effect sensor is powered correctly?
Also, it almost look to me that you are not getting any power on the rail. Can you confirm the voltage along the blue and red rail please? If that is indeed the culprit, please see if you can jump the rail.
Please let us know what you find.
Good Luck!
Willey
