lowering the freezing point of water experiment

Post by AmandaSartor »

We purchased a science buddies kit for lowering the freezing point of water. My student has completed her experiments and has begun gathering results. We were not clear about what the liquid inside the test tube, that is the sugar/water or salt/water, is supposed to represent. Is this liquid mixture to represent an "ice-cream" solution or the salt/water mixture that freezes ice cream? Thank you for your help!

Hi AmandaSartor,
This sounds like a fun experiment.
The liquid mixture is for freezing the ice-cream. Please take a look at the slide show in the bottom of the page for additional information.

Good Luck!
