Re: Color Absorption Question
Hello sciencekid1904,
I’m assuming that you are asking about the project described here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary
Sorry, but an infrared thermometer is required for measuring the energy emitted from the colored paper squares. A regular thermometer cannot be used for this purpose.
I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.

Re: Color Absorption Question
Hi sciencekid1904,
Following up on A. Norman have said, you will need a infrared thermometer but it does NOT need to be the same model as listed in the Amazon link. In fact, you might want to check with your teacher and see if there's one in the science lab that you can borrow.
Good Luck!

Re: Color Absorption Question
In the end i was able to get the infrared thermometer but i have another question does it matter which unit of temperature I use or do I need to use a specific one
Simple Machines
How does the mechanical advantage of the inclined plane affect how much force is being done?

Re: Color Absorption Question
Hello sciencekid1904,
Glad to hear that you were able to get an infrared thermometer for you project. My suggestion is to use Celsius units your temperature measurements. This is the standard temperature for scientific work. And it will be easier to convert to Kelvin from Celsius for some of the calculations in the project.
I hope this helps and good luck with your project. Please post again if you have more questions.
