iosama10 - The best guess I can suggest is that filling the bottle with hot water, then emptying it, leaves it filled with hot air which is expanded in volume. When the straw in the bottle is inverted into the cold water, it starts to be drawn up into the bottle as the volume of air in the bottle cools and creates a vacuum. As soon as the cold water enters the hot air, the process accelerates and more, colder water sprays into the hot air, quickly causing it to cool creates a strong vacuum until it reaches equilibrium.
