Planarian regeneration

Post by gdigdigan »

I am an AP student assigned to perform a research project. I was hoping I could get input on what would happen if I soaked a planarian food source in a sugar solution, water, and sugar alcohols and whether or not that will effect planarian regeneration.

Hello gdigdigan,
Maybe some of the other experts on this forum can suggest how your manipulation of food source will affect regeneration.

Here is a link that might help you design your experiment to evaluate the regeneration for each of your experimental conditions (sugar, water, sugar alcohols). I hope you will also have a control condition!

Here's a link to a ScienceBuddies project using planaria. This might also help you develop your experimental procedures.
