Can a piezoelectric generator create heat? If so, how is it done?

Post by GuessWho5552471 »

I have a science project to do at school and I need some serious help! I've been trying to figure out whether a piezoelectric generator can be used to create heat and Google just ends up taking me to links that discuss harvesting heat to create electricity... HELP PLEASE!!!

It would be a two step process:

1 Piezo: Pressure -> Electricity
2 Electricity -> heat.

1 - Piezoelectricity: http://www.explainthatstuff.com/piezoelectricity.html
2 - Heat from electricity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_heating
