titration

Post by suniique »

To determine the mass percentage of acetic acid in a sample of vinegar, 50 ml of vinegar
(d = 1.013 g/ml) is titrated with a standardized NaOH solution. Equivalence point is reached when 60 ml
of 0.92 M NaOH is added to the vinegar. The acetic acid in the vinegar reacts with the NaOH according
to the following reaction:
CH3CO2H (aq) + NaOH (aq) → NaCH3CO2 (aq) + H2O (l)
a) What is the mass percentage of the acetic acid in the vinegar?
b) Describe how you would dilute a 0.15 M acetic acid solution if you need 125 ml of a 0.01 M
acetic acid solution for an experiment.
