Hello Jentai69,
Welcome to Science Buddies! Thank you very much for providing the link to your project. Congratulations on selecting such a fascinating project.
And, since your project involves genetics, your post has been moved from Grades 9-12 Physical Sciences to Life, Earth, and Social Sciences so the experts with expertise in genetics are more likely to see it and answer your questions!
I think that the Science Buddies Project Guide:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ndex.shtml
particularly the section on variables:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... bles.shtml
will help you think about independent versus dependent variables and help you think about treatment variables versus response (or "effect") variables.
As you read those sections in the guide, go back and forth to the procedure section in your project. I suggest that you start making a list of possible variables in your lab book (you DO have a lab book?!) and think about which might be independent and which might be dependent. Which variables might be treatment variables? Which variables might be response variables?
Be sure to let us know if you have more questions!
