Linnear Accelerator
Im trying to make a linnear accelerator but the steel balls dont remain in line, rather they both jump to the Neodymium magnet. Is this because the magnet is too strong? Im using 1.5 inch square magnets with 5/8 " balls.

Hi ojonsson,
Are you working on the Gauss rifle project?

The balls jump to the magnet if the balls are too close to the magnet. Try moving the trigger ball a bit farther away from the magnets. Eventually you will get the balls far enough away that they will not jump toward the magnet until you tilt the wooden dowels.
