Hello millylin1010,

Fungi are members of one of the Kingdoms of life, some members are large multicellular organisms such as mushrooms, however, others are small unicellular organisms. Since these smaller organisms are only made of a single cell they are too hard to see with the naked eye and require a microscope to see them, and so are called microscopic fungi.
Yeast are a very common type of unicellular (microscopic) fungi.

If you have additional questions are need more clarification, let us know.

Hope this helps,
Elizabeth

Hello heidigr,

I am working on my PhD in Microbiology and I work with Neurospora crassa, a filamentous fungi. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try and help!
