What stage of meiosis do you feel that an error can be most likely and most detrimental for the individual? And why?

Hi biology101,

Among the things that can go wrong the most common are: crossing-over (prophase I), and nondisjunction (anaphase II, 1 gamete with double amount of chromosomes and one without any).

I think errors during crossing-over are most common and can produce most detrimental results (this can result in gene deletions or duplication.
