molecular structure of different types of wood

Postby Colette » Wed Nov 04, 2009 6:32 pm

I am doing my science fair report on the factors that make an old guitar better quality then a new guitar. I figured I should start with the wood composition. I know that over time, the molecular structure of wood changes because of vibration. I would like to know more about the way that they change. If any possible links or people that may help please let me know. Thank you :)

Hi,

You may find this site of interest, as it compares sound quality from many woods:

Another view on the subject:

This topic is very controversial:

I hope this gets your research started.

Best of luck for a great project!
