I am attempting to do a dance pad project and need some guidance.
Where would I go to find answers to the following questions:
How much force is needed to activate an average electrical circuit switch?
What is the maximum force that can activate an electrical circuit without breaking it?

Hello rdtha,
Electrical switches are made in many, many different sizes, shapes, and requiring a wide range of activating forces. You can browse
http://www.mouser.com/Electromechanical/Switches/_/N-5g2h/ to see some of the different types.
If you provide a description of how you wish to use the switch, maybe I could provide more help.
Good luck, WW
