Hydroponics
Hydroponics
I need to know how much of each chemecal compound is in the nutrients for hydroponic plants. I need this info because my project test defferent mixtures to see how it effects the plants. So.....can someone help me with this. Thank you.
Re: Hydroponics
Have you tried going to a garden store and asking them? They may be able to tell you. If they can't, I would suggest calling the companies who make hydroponics nutrients. Explain that you are doing a science fair…

Hydroponic Science Fair
Hydroponic Science Fair
Hello! I am currently working on a science fair project dealing with hydroponic growth with and without nutrients. To take my project a step further, I decided to investigate rooting pothos/philodendron plants with and without nutrients, when an excess of a nutrient is added. I want to add either, nitrogen, potassium, or phosphorous to my solution, and I was wondering:
Which of the 3 nutrients would best support my experiment?

Hydroponic Nutrients
Dose anyone know what is in the nutrients for hydroponics? I'm trying to see what different mixtures of the nutrients will work better for different plantes.
Re: Hydroponic Nutrients
Hi,
Here's an excellent article from Wikipedia including a list of the nutrients found in hydroponics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroponics. I suggest you take a look at that and also look through the references listed at the end of the article.

Hydroponic experiment
Hydroponic experiment
Hi!
I'm planning on experimenting with hydroponics, but I'm a little stuck on what to experiment with/test. I was maybe thinking how the electrical conductivity or salinity of the water affects the biomass of plants (maybe tomatoes). But I was wondering, what other factors could I test? And any suggestions for making homemade hydroponic system?
Thanks!

hydroponics lighting
hydroponics lighting
I am starting to design my research for a hydroponics experiment. I would like to test different light sources and compare them. I have some information on lights such as HPS,HIDS, and LEDS. If anyone has ideas on which lights I should compare that would be greatly appreciated.

Hydroponic Kit unavailable
Hydroponic Kit unavailable
Hi,
My daughter would really like to do her Science Fair project that Sciencebuddies has on their website "hydroponics: Gardening without soil." However, the recommended material of a of hydroponic terrarium is no longer available from Amazon, and we are in fact having a hard time finding a comparable substitute. Could someone offer some advice where we could find another kit, or is it as simple as finding and purchasing the rock wool…

hydroponics and alfalfa
hydroponics and alfalfa
Hello, I am a high school science research student and I am doing a project on the effect of alfalfa in remediating oil-contaminated water in the presence of oil-eating bacteria. Alfalfa is a know phytoremediator and I plan to use hydroponics to grow the alfalfa in oil-contaminated water. Recently, I have checked the local nurseries but none of them sell alfalfa plants that are already grown. Additionally, I would like help with setting up a…

Do you think plants can grow without soil? If you've tried growing veggies, you probably planted the seeds or seedlings in soil. Soil gives the plants the nutrients they need to grow. However, plants can grow without soil, too, using a process called hydroponics. In this activity, you will transform a 2-liter soda bottle into a mini-garden that needs only light, air, and nutrient-rich water to grow!
What do plants need to grow? Most of us would answer that they need light, air, water, and soil. But by using a process called hydroponics, you can grow plants without soil! How does it work? Try this project and see for yourself!
