Engineering Engineering Hello, I'm looking for ideas for green engineering. Well it doesn't have to be just green engineering i just want something that i will be able to build. Also I was wondering if you guys had any good ideas for Green engineering with cars/motorcycles? I know I'm not giving you guys much to go on. But my previous idea was too expensive and would not be done in time for my science fair. So please if you guys would help i would be very grateful. Sincerely, Witchy :D Re:… Read more

ENGINEERING ENGINEERING How does the shape of a steel beam affect its strenght? I.e. Lets say an I Beam VS. a Rectangular Beam Re: ENGINEERING Hi, You asked an excellent question that is rather central to civil engineering! Here is a Wikipedia article on beams: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beam_(structure) Here is a PDF file of a book that might help: http://ia310907.us.archive.org/3/items/beamformulasstru00newyrich/beamformulasstru00newyrich.pdf The subject area relevant to beams is… Read more

engineering engineering what is the best project regarding space that can be made for a science fair Re: engineering The 'best' project is one that you're passionate about. The judges will speak with you and your success at the fair will depend on how well you convey your hypothesis, your test methods and your understanding of the subject. If you pick something that you don't care about it will be obvious - and you won't do well. The fair is also about having fun and learning something as… Read more

engineering engineering Help, I am an engineering graduate, I am working on the project namely effect of magnetised water on the concrete.i think my project is Awful it can make beautiful changes in the construction material concrete. I am facing a very challenging tasks on this project , I have to magnitise the water permanently so that while using it can give me better results but I am not sure the effect of magnetised water remains after we remove the magnetic field. Here I m facing a… Read more

Stirling Engine + Internal Combustion engine? Stirling Engine + Internal Combustion engine? Hello all! This is my first post here, so I am unsure as to any customs in asking questions. So I shall try to make this as clear as possible: My somewhat recent idea for my next Science Fair project was a question that occurred to me as I was learning about ways to directly convert heat energy to electricity. In the process, I learned of both the Law of Entropy (which answers my original question)… Read more

engineering engineering Like compressed air is stored in a receiver and it use for blowing and pneumatic purposes only, when required to be used. Can pressure be stored by means of vacuum/suction to clear out a 2.5 inch diameter by 1.5 foot long pipe of adhesive when required too. Re: engineering
Can pressure be stored by means of vacuum/suction to clear out a 2.5 inch diameter by 1.5 foot long pipe of adhesive when required too.
This sounds like something you… Read more

Biological Engineering vs Biomedical Engineering Biological Engineering vs Biomedical Engineering Dear Sci Buddies :D Hope everyone is doing amazing, I am in my senior year and looking to study in Canada. I am torn between studying biomedical engineering or biological engineering. Which one is more biology-orientated rather than mechanical, and what kind of careers can I do with such majors. Personally I see biological engineering more interesting, but what is your advice? Furthermore… Read more
