Carbon is a chemical element, and it appears and is used in many, many places in our world.

What specific question do you have about carbon? A bit of research about carbon might help you further understand the presence of carbon.

I think carbon still exists because it is an important material for the life of the planet and people. Its uses are as varied as the element itself.
Carbon is the basis of all organic matter. Any living organism is made up largely of carbon. Carbon is the basis of life. The carbon source for living organisms is usually CO2 from the atmosphere or water. As a result of photosynthesis, it enters biological food chains, in which living things devour each other or each other's remains and thereby extract carbon to build their own bodies. The biological carbon cycle ends with either oxidation and re-entry into the atmosphere or disposal in the form of coal or oil.
Carbon in the form of fossil fuels: coal and hydrocarbons (oil, natural gas) - one of the most important sources of energy for humanity.
Carbon in the steel industry is one of the most important components of iron-carbon alloys (iron and steel production).
Graphite is used in the pencil industry. It is also used as a lubricant at extremely high or low temperatures.

There is such a thing as the carbon cycle in nature. It has several important features. At different times, different processes have been decisive in the carbon cycle. Abrupt, catastrophic changes in the carbon cycle have played a key role in the evolution of the carbon cycle in Earth's history. The geochemical cycle of carbon always occurs through the atmosphere and hydrosphere. Thus, even the deepest processes can affect the environment and biosphere. Without carbon, life on Earth would be very different. Carbon is found in the atmosphere, the ocean, and the earth's crust. This makes it one of the most valuable chemical elements.
