Hi,

I'm looking to do a project to see if it's easier to remember words if they have been highlighted in different colors. Has any one got any information or seen any research about that?

Thanks!

Hi,

Welcome to Science Buddies.

Investigating memory is a great idea for a science project. Here is a project idea on memory that you should be able to adapt to your idea on the value of highlighting in colors: .

Since you will be working with humans, don't forget to get signed consent forms from each student and their legal guardian. Here is a link for more information. Do ask your teacher if you have any questions on this.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi!

This sounds like an exciting project. There are numerous studies that have analyzed the effect of color on memory, so it should be easy to start researching. However, keep in mind that some websites are not credible, which means that they may give you false information.

Here are a few sites to get you started: (If you have trouble, you should ask for help in understanding these documents.)
