Extracting the starch from paper
I was wondering if there is a way to extract the starch from a paper sheet.

Re: Extracting the starch from paper
Great Question!
Unfortunately, I am not sure if you can physically extract the starch from paper However, I do know that you can test for starch content in the paper by using Iodine. When it comes in contact with iodine, the starch turns a dark blue color. The more starch there is in something, the darker blue it will turn. HOWEVER, IODINE IS TOXIC AND CANNOT BE INGESTED!!! So keep that in mind if you do decide to use this method. I hope this suggestion helps you in your science fair project and good luck!
