Help coming up with science fair project for my 1st grader
My son is doing his first science fair project on his own which is due May 10th. I want his project to be something fun and exciting for him but something different that won't be over done. i was thinking about a solar system or volcano because i know he would enjoy either of those two areas but i cannot seem to find anything on either of the two. Help?

Hi,
Here is an index of the easier astronomy project ideas from Science Buddies:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p?ia=Astro
Here are a few specific Science Buddies Project Ideas you and your son might consider:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p011.shtml
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p020.shtml
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p011.shtml
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p025.shtml
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p021.shtml
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p020.shtml
Science Buddies does not seem to have volcano science fair projects, but here are a few from a google search:
http://chemistry.about.com/cs/howtos/ht ... olcano.htm
http://www.science-projects-resources.c ... jects.html
http://www.juliantrubin.com/encyclopedi ... lcano.html
And some solar system resources from a google web search
http://www.exploratorium.edu/ronh/solar_system/
http://www.discoveryeducation.com/teach ... tarium.cfm
http://www.sciencefair-projects.org/sol ... ystem.html
While some of these projects maay be a bit advanced for a first grade student, they may give you an idea where to start.
Good luck, and, above all, have fun!!!!!
Best regards,
Barrett L Tomlinson
