Pectic enzyme dilution

Post by JasonRichardson »

My son Jason, a 6th grader, is doing a science project based on your experiment "A Juicy Project: Extracting Apple Juice with Pectinase." We ordered a 1 lb bag of pectic enzyme powder. Can you tell us what amounts of pectic enzyme powder and distilled water to use in this experiment? Thanks so much!

Hi JasonRichardson,

The pectinase available from Carolina and linked to the project materials list is at 100%, so I'd suggesting making a 100% solution (100g in 100mL water).
