Hi 19Sawyerc!
To help answer your question, it would help to share a bit more info on your project and what specifically you're trying to research about tsunamis. If you're just trying to learn about tsunamis in general, we have a couple good articles and experiments here on SciBuddies that can help you with that. Here's a general article about tsunamis to get your started: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/news/article?id=168742. You can also go to your local or school library and they will likely have a book or two on tsunamis. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Hi 19Sawyerc,
On the International Tsunami Information Center, there are two great texts that might be helpful for you. There is a great brochure called "Tsunami, The Great Waves". You can access this by going to http://itic.ioc-unesco.org/index.php?op ... 37&lang=en and by choosing the pdf logo next to "English". It gives you detailed information about tsunamis, including information about how tsunamis move and how fast they move. Also, there is a pdf version of a textbook that can be accessed by going to http://itic.ioc-unesco.org/index.php?op ... temid=2725 and by clicking the pdf logo next to "5th to 8th grade". There is a section about tsunamis in Unit IV and the information on tsunami propagation might be helpful for you.
I hope these texts will help you gain more information to study the effect of water depth on wave velocity. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
