Question about are fingerprints inherited science project

Post by ckemper1313 »

In the Project Are finger prints inherited. it talks about unrelated pairs and sibling pairs. I am not sure of the exact definition of unrelated pair. Does parent to child count as unrelated? The wording in the procedure step 3.C calls out unrelated pairs and sibling pairs.

some clarification on whether parent to child is counted as unrelated in context to the experiment would be appreciated.

thank you

Hello there and welcome to Science Buddies!

If you think about the title of the project, are fingerprint patterns inherited, you may be able to answer your own question. Let me know if you want to talk this out further!
