Independent/ dependent variable in a research survery

Post by katiejett »

What are the independent and dependent variables for the research question: Are males ages four to eighteen that enroll in no tackle team sports every year that play at least once a week less likely to serve prison/ jail time for violent offenses?

Dear katiejett,

In a research question, an independent variable is a variable that you change. In other words, you have control over this variable. A dependent variable is a variable that you collect data for.

I hope this helps you figure out your independent and dependent variables. If you have any questions, please let me know.
