Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I need help with A science fair title for my project. It involves the effects of fertilizer. Does it work or does the type of fertilizer matter? I have 3 pots . One with organic, one with non-organic and one with just wAter (no fertilizer). Please help. Thanks!

Are you testing the effectiveness of different types of fertilizer on one type of plant or a doing a comparison of non-organic versus organic fertilizer? Do you have one pot of the plant with no fertilizer (controlled), 2nd pot with non-organic fertilizer, and a 3rd pot with organic fertilizer? If so, this sounds like you are comparing the effectiveness of organic vs. nonorganic fertilizers. You would only be needing one type of organic and one type of nonorganic fertilizer in this case also, unless you wanted to test with multiple organic and multiple inorganic fertilizers.

If you could provide more details on your experiment, it would be easier to understand and give you feedback.
