Science fair project

Post by Marissa10c »

My daughter is having a hard time figuring out the independent variable dependent variable and the constant and control.
Our project was what liquid will melt an ice cube faster water, soda or Gatorade.
She had put independent var the liquids
Dependent the ice cube melting
Constant was the amount of liquid and amount of ice
Controlled was the temp, ice, liquid
The last two I wasn’t sure of

Hello and welcome to Science Buddies,
Here's a link to the Science Buddies project guide. There is a section on variables which might help your daughter understand the role of constants and controls in her experiment.

Let us know if that helps and be sure to let us know if she still has questions!
