Make a Simple Electric Motor
Is it ok to use an outlet as my source for electricity?

I'm assuming that you're working on the project described here:

Please use a “C” cell battery for your power source. The project procedure describes how to build a motor designed to use this size battery. Using an outlet would pose the risk of a shock and other hazards.
