i am doing the collapsing can experiment. I have my varaibles as follows
independent - the air pressure in the can whether it is heated or at room temperature
controlled - 15 ml of tap water added to the can
dependant - the cold water the can is dunked in
am i on the right track?
So i need help

Hi winterswan127,
An independent variable is something that you alter in an experiment in order to observe a response in a dependent variable.
In the “collapsing can” experiment you heat the can (by heating the water inside) then dunk the can in cold water. The observation you make is whether the can collapses. So “can collapse” is the dependent variable. The independent variable could be how much the can is heated or it could be how much the can is cooled. Either experiment would be possible. So assigning the independent variable depends on how you do your experiment.
You might want to take a look at the following link for more information about variables:

I hope this helps. Please ask again if you have more questions.
