Is there a specific characteristic or hypothesis that you are hoping to test for?
To get started, please try the search term "fire retardant experiment" in google and I think you will come across experiment such as this:

Hi aryank,
There are a number of good natural material to consider - mineral wool probably being one of the most common.
It really depends on the hypothesis and how your experiment will be conducted to test it though.
