Conductance of Sport Drinks

Post by HopePressler1 »

My son has competed his investigation part of his science fair project comparing the conductance of sport drinks. He is now analyzing his data. He found varying degrees of conductance in the 12 drinks that he tested. Now he wants to know if there is a way to say whether the differences in the conductance of the various drinks is statistically significant?

Thanks,
Hope

Hi Hope,

There are a number of different statistical "significance tests" your son can use to assess statistical significance.

Here are some good posts explaining statistical significance concepts and to help you choose which test is appropriate for your data:

Explanation of statistical significance: https://towardsdatascience.com/statisti ... 274fa32687

Which test to use: https://towardsdatascience.com/statisti ... 4557554740

Khan Academy module on statistical significance testing: https://www.khanacademy.org/math/statis ... one-sample

Additional illustrated overview of types of tests: https://www.westga.edu/academics/resear ... _notes.pdf

Hopes this helps!

Would the ANOVA test be the best test to use?
