Ideas for IRP Website Project - 7th Grade

My son has picked "Website" as his Science IRP project. We thought it is as simple as creating just any website. However, his teacher rejected that idea and is asking to create a website addressing scientific community. Honestly, we did not follow what she means and do not have an idea about what kind of a "website" project that can be done - showing all steps of "defining a problem, background research, design.. test etc.. Could someone suggest ideas on what we can do here pls.
