Were you able to install and get any of the suggested programs running? The project page has a few links to programs for Windows, OSX and Android machines that will display signal strength.

I cannot find any program supported by Apple that will measure wi-fi strength by dBm. If anyone has an idea please help! I have even taken an iphone and used a Field Test code to show "dBm" in the upper left corner rather than bars, it works, sorta. When doing the experiment though, nothing seemed to make much of a difference. The control numbers were weaker than putting ANY object in front! I'm a little frantic, as I have spent many hours trying to hunt down a program that will work. I'm about to buy expensive apps, but I only have a $30 budget. HELP!
