Hello,

It's great that you have an interest in getting your work published! One journal that publishes work by high school students is the Journal of Emerging Investigators. You can go to their website and read about their publication guidelines. This could be a good opportunity to get feedback on your work from other scientists and get experience with the publication process. They do require that you have a senior mentor listed as the last author on your manuscript. This can be a teacher or a professor from a university. Do you have a research mentor?

If you want to get published in an academic journal that's not geared toward high school students, having a mentor who has published in journals before is essential. Manuscripts for journals need to be written and submitted in a specific format and it would be difficult to learn the format without help from someone with experience. Also, when you submit your manuscript to a journal, your work will be rigorously reviewed by experienced professionals in your field of research. Your mentor can help you ensure that your experiments are well designed without any flaws that the reviewers might critique. Getting your research published in a good journal can be a difficult process that takes months or even years, but it's definitely possible with a good mentor!

I hope this helps!
