Probiotics

Post by themej »

Hello,

My current research project is about probiotics. Basically, my project is co-culturing bacteria and HepG2 cells. I would like to measure the amount of the breakdown products of fibrinogen. However, I have not found very much information about assays or kits for measuring this. Also, it would be helpful if you can direct me to some sort of other ways of measuring the amount of fibrinogen breakdown products, perhaps through pathways, and activities during this catabolic process.

Thank you,
themej

Some sites that may be of help are:
http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articl ... id=1347099 (click on different links to open pdf files on your topic)

I did a little research and information tells me that you might require professional help on measuring the amount of fibrinogen breakdown products.
But I might be wrong.

Sorry I could not help much, I will get back to you if I find more information on your topic.

Also, I think probiotics is a very interesting topic of choice, but I suggest taking a different approach to your project to simplify your need requirements and to find an effective way to conclude your results.

Hello,

I would like to know if there are standard microbial adherence assays. I am trying to figure out how to make sure that my bacteria are adhered to the cells. I have not been able to find lactobacillus plantarum or lactobacillus acidophilus adherence assay, in terms of cells without a mucus membrane.

Thank you,
Theresa
