Re: Microforaminifera
Hi,
You seem to be interested in small fossils that are found in a large variety of marine sediments of various ages. Here is a brief overview that might be useful:
http://www.geo.arizona.edu/palynology/ppforam.html
http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/people/klf ... ossils.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foraminifera
Here is an outline of a lecture on micropaleontology that has lots of terms that you can use to search further:
http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:KM7 ... clnk&gl=us
These seem to be important in studying the geologic history of sediments. Here are a few recent scientific papers that used them:
http://striweb.si.edu/publications/PDFs ... dingJL.pdf
http://www.doiserbia.nbs.bg.ac.yu/img/d ... 64063E.pdf
This looks like a huge subject to dive into that could keep you busy for a lifetime. I hope these resources let you stick your toes into it. Have fun!

Re: Microforaminifera
Hi,
If your interest in micro foraminifera extends to trying to isolate them from field samples and examining them microscopically then you may be interested in this link:

This sounds like the start of a really fantastic science fair project!!!
Best regards,
