Can the experiment be performed using HCl and NaOH?

Hi there,

Are you referring to using NaOH and HCl instead of the baking soda and vinegar?

While you are right that you would still be using an acid and a base, they are quite different in strength. NaOH and HCl are both highly corrosive, therefore they would not be best suited for this application.
