Help me please, my science fair is due tomorrow.
My project is about: How do different levels of oxygen affect the exothermic oxidation of the iron inside the heat packs?
I have no idea what to write for my application in the science report.
PLEASE HELP ME, PLEASE!
Final Report

Re: Final Report
Hi layan15,
I'm assuming that you're working on the project described here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... es#summary
The heat packs used in this project represent one application of the iron oxidation reaction. That is, the energy released by the reaction warms the heat pack. The project background section describes this in more detail.
More generally there are numerous applications for exothermic reactions. Burning gasoline is another example of oxidation. In this case the energy released can be used to power the engine of an automobile. Burning coal or natural gas can be used to power the production of electricity.
I hope this helps. Please ask again if you have more questions.
