Most popular materials?

Hi everyone!

I really need to know what are the most used and sought after materials needed for science projects and experiments such as for dioramas, homework assignment or science fair. Please be specific and let me know where you currently purchase or find these items. I know craft stores, electronic stores and hardware stores generally have the things you need. But if all the specific items for your projects could all be in one shop what would you be looking for? Also what is your favourite kind of project and what is your least favourite?
