I am currently doing the investigation on the effect of colour on heat absorption. Measuring the temperature of coloured paper jars as suggested in this site link:

Please tell me what will be my independent variable and dependent variables in this investigation.
Also tell me about what type of data should I collect for this experiment.
I am not using water instead I am just measuring the temperature of air inside coloured jar. I am doing this experiment in the Sun instead of artificial bulbs.
Please reply me as soon as possible.

I am afraid I may be missing something from your post. Can you explain your reasons for choosing not to use water and using direct sun light please?

As you said in your post, you are measuring the temperature of the air inside the jar so this is your dependent variable since this is the variable that changes as a result of your action, i.e. the independent variable that you are changing in this experiment.

Actually, I am looking for the formula which can be used for this experiments.
As we are using different colours, there are different wavelengths of those colours from the visible emission spectrum, so what can I find regarding the same.
There is no proper working for the reading given in the link for the link I posted before.
Please guide me with the same.

I am afraid I am not aware of any simple formula that describes the thermal transfer that's taking place in this experiment. In your setup, if I am reading this correctly, the "visible emission spectrum" is that of the sun light. On the "color paper" side, I think you are looking for the "absorption spectrum" to determine how much energy is absorbed by the paper. This is then followed by the heat transfer from the paper back to the air temperature that you are measuring. May be another expert can chime in with more information.
