rover dimensions

Post by Aditya04 »

Hi,
I am a Year 9 student currently studying in Newcastle trying to design a rover for the moon that could collect Helium-3. The main reason I’m interested in doing this project was because when Helium-3 is used in nuclear fission or fusion it doesn’t release harmful radiation into the surrounding atmosphere thus it could save millions for companies making nuclear power in repair costs. So anyway, down to what I would like to know, what are the fundamentals of designing a rover for the moon? E.g. Weight, height etc.

Hi there,

I found a great resource from NASA that details the considerations for rover design, and also gives an open source set of plans.

Hope that helps!
