Fuel Cell Kit Science Project Question

Post by e677bc644a1e4913bec9e5786882473e »

Hello, I am getting ready to do my science fair project with the kit below. I borrowed the kit but it is missing the battery pack. What are the specifications of the battery pack? I need to use something else. Can I just use a AA or AAA rechargeable battery? If not, what else would you recommend? Please help. :D

Thank you, Ruby 10th Grade

The project calls for 2 AA batteries, and the battery pack is a 2-AA battery holder. From the photos you can see in the project, the battery holder appears to have special connectors (they look like the connectors for other elements in the kit). This kit is not made by Science Buddies, and we do not have information on how you can replace that exact battery holder.

However, if the battery pack is only connected to alligator clips in the project (you will need to carefully look at the procedure), then a regular 2-AA battery holder should work. You can find these at electronics stores. For example:

or https://amzn.to/2DAy81F

Again - the ends will be different than what the kit comes with.
