Need ideas for a year long science project

Postby meh1 » Wed Aug 19, 2020 12:04 am

Hi there
I am about to undergo a year long project. Not exactly a science fair one.
I am interested in astrophysics/astronomy, and have looked at the project ideas, however, to my understanding, there are none that suit the year long time limit.

If anyone could recommend ideas for such a long project they would be greatly appreciated.

Hi meh1,

As you've pointed out, none of the Science Buddies astronomy projects have a one year duration as described. But there are some projects you could modify to increase the observation time. For example, you might study how the positions of constellations change throughout the year. Or you might measure the daylight time remaining after sunset during each season of the year.

Some of the projects that could be extended are as follows:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... rk#summary

I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.

A. Norman
