Piezoelectric Crystal Batteries/Energy Production

Post by BetterTogether »

Would it be simply possible to create a battery or power source by stacking piezoelectric crystals in an acoustic sensitive container. these produce a very small charge but many small drops of rain will still wash away your house lol.

1. the mechanicals... one crystal pushes on the next and the next until the energy is shared to - 0 but producing enough energy to reproduce the pressure that was initially produced preferably with extra energy?

2. perhaps the acoustic container was automatically activated by the already saturated atmosphere of sound/movement.

3. electric vehicles are constantly getting bumped (compressing energy) thus producing an opportunity for regeneration but not regeneration from the initial energy spent directly like regenerating from braking.

4. alternatively the crystals produce electricity from compression/stretching and retracting. could the energy be stored in the mechanical by using energy to stretch then release to create energy release kind of like a liquid (water Battery). only the crystal battery wont care if its on its side sometimes.

Hi - this forum is for K-12 students working on science projects, not general science questions. If you Google "piezoelectric energy harvesting" you should find some answers to your questions though.
