C++ Programming in Sci Investigatory Project (Grade11)

Postby yotao » Wed Jun 27, 2018 7:23 pm

I am thinking of using C++ programming in a Sci IP (Grade 11-applicable). I'm just not too sure if I can apply the scientific method here. My idea is to fuse my knowledge in C++ and Science. Any suggestions?

Hi there. There are an infinite number of problems you can do using computer programming! In this case, writing code to solve a problem falls under the "engineering design process" instead of the standard scientific method. That's ok. The engineering design process is still a science project. Perhaps check with your teacher first to ensure this is ok. More information on the engineering design process can be found here.

If you cannot think of something on your own that you would like to design with computer code, try using the Project Ideas page here. You can search by topic of interest...in your case probably browse by topic. The projects might suggest using other programming languages, but you can always do them in C++.

I hope this helps. Write back if you have further questions. Good luck!
