underwater robot

How do you add multiple motors to the under water hanger robot to make it move in different directions? Does each motor need a separate battery pack? Do yo wire the motors separately to the switch and use one battery pack which you wire to the switch? Thank you.

Hi Samantha06 - if you are new to electronics, the easiest way to do this would be to have a separate battery back for each motor. That way each motor has its own on/off switch and you could use those to steer, for example:

both motors on = go straight
only one motor on = turn right
other motor on = turn left

If you just wanted to use one battery pack, then you would need to include a separate switch in the circuit for each motor, and you'd need to learn about parallel circuits to understand how to do the wiring. In this case, however, since the battery packs already have switches built in, that is sort of redundant.
