variables

Post by bre07 »

I am doing my science fair project on the plant vascular system. I am going to use carnations and food coloring to change the petals. My paper is asking for an independent, dependent and controlled variable. I am not sure what I am supposed to use for them. Please help me!

Hello Bre07 and welcome to science buddies!

Your project sounds like fun. I hope you are planning to take pictures of the results. You could use your smartphone. That will make for a very colorful display!

As for identifying your dependent vs independent variables, take a look at this project guide:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ience-fair

There is a section explaining about variables. After you read that, let us know which of your variables is the dependent variable and which is (or maybe are) the independent variables. This will also help you decide which are your controls!

Good luck and Happy New Year!
