Elephant Toothpaste

Post by brownjo73 »

Hi! I'm a 5th grade teacher and I'm wanting to help some of my students make the elephant toothpaste activity into a Science Fair type project. I'm wondering what would be the best way to measure the height of the reaction. I'm also wondering if you have any other variables that you could change other than the type of container or the strength of the peroxide.

As you and your student probably noted, the Elephant Toothpaste activity isn't written for a science fair project.

This science project does not contain a procedure. It is, instead, a launching point for a custom project. But using the elephant toothpaste recipe from the activity, your student might find inspiration in this to test a different variable related to the container. https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... -container
