Project Question: How do different materials react to static electricity? I have already made my electroscope. I have already selected different materials. My question is if I want to test a comb what type of materials I should rub it against to test for static electricity?

static electricity

My science fair project is How do different materials react to static electricity?

I have already made elctroscope to measure static electricity.

My question is :If I want to measure different materials to check for electricity ex: comb, aluminium foil etc What should I rub these material with to create electricity?

Generally speaking, fur and wool are materials that are more likely to give up electrons, thus causing static elecricity build-up in the objects under test. Silk and cotton can also work, depending on the material you are rubbing with them.
