Selecting a project
I need help selecting a challenging programing project. I have a windows laptop. I am in 5th grade but read at a 9th grade level.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
There are quite many online resources available for programming projects. Do you have a specific programming language that you have decided to use? What experience do you have in programming?
A good place to start is the Science Buddies' web page on "Science Fair Project Ideas":

Specifically, computer science related projects are listed here in the order from "beginner" to "advanced":
