steps in high school/university to get into biological engineering

Postby cesampson01 » Tue Jun 15, 2021 4:00 pm

Hello science buddies,

I am in ninth grade currently and am hoping to go into biological engineering when I am older. I am wondering what classes and steps you took in high school and university to help you get into your desired scientific field.

thankyou.

You may find it helpful to look at this career profile (or others in the Science Careers area): https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... l-engineer

The different sections of the profile contain a great deal of information to help you think about classes and preparation for a career in the field.

I was also interested in finding educational materials on this topic. On Youtube, I quickly stumbled upon an MIT genetics course taught by the wonderful Professor Eric Lander. From the very first lectures, I fell in love with both this charismatic man and the subject he teaches. I usually find all the information I need on the UK Edubirdie - there I can also get quick help for almost no cost. I learned that Eric Lander is an honored mathematician by his basic education, who later retrained as a geneticist. Member of the US National Academy of Sciences since 1997. Winner of many prestigious awards. The works are mainly devoted to bioinformatics, genomics, and genetics. Therefore, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with his course. This will be a great start for you.
